Prof. Gargiulo is Head of the Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Sciences and since 2002 he has been Director of the Pediatric and Grown-up Congenital Cardiac Surgery Unit – IRCCS AOUBO Policlinico di S. Orsola.
Currently he carries out teaching and training within the degree course in Medicine and Surgery, the post-graduate course in Cardiac Surgery, in Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery at University of Bologna, as well as at the master in Pediatric Cardiology.
He attended as speaker and moderator in several meetings, his scientific production includes more than 150 publications in national and international journals and chapters of books, mainly in the field of clinical and experimental research.
Gaetano Gargiulo is member of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery, Italian Society of Pediatric Cardiology, Honorary member of Italian Society of Pediatrics and the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
